I was doing a longer run with some friends yesterday morning, and MAAAN, its like you were in my head. Running can feel so hard at the start, but then hopefully you reach a point where everything locks in and its great... At least until it isn't. But even then, its addictive, and wonderful, and hard, and satisfying. Thank you for writing this!
I feel so seen. Thank you Stanley!! I often feel a small nudge from the universe telling me to keep going (amidst my own brain begging me to stop) — like the lawn guy cutting the leaf blower to allow me to pass, a car actually stopping at a crosswalk, or my pre-run carbs finally kicking in. I just have to suffer long enough to find my nudge.
All - and I mean *all* - aboard the strugglebus.

Love this! Mile one is the worst, especially as I get older
Right? I don't remember it being this laborious when I was younger!
